Accepting New Clients!
Hello there! My name is Allyson, and I am a clinician dedicated to supporting individuals through their unique journeys. With focuses in perinatal mental health, neurodiversity, mood disorders, trauma, and relationships, I am passionate about helping you navigate life's challenges, from the day-to-day frustrations to those deeper issues that you maybe just can’t seem to wrap your head around.
For the parents out there, especially the new parents, bringing a new life into the world can be an emotionally complicated experience, especially if you are already struggling with the impacts of previous trauma or other mental and emotional issues. You may worry if you are “doing it right.” My goal for our work together is to provide a judgment-free space to help empower you to be the best parent you are able to be, even if that does not look like the Instagram-perfect picture of parenthood.
I take an integrated approach to counseling, drawing from modalities such as Trauma-Informed CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, interpersonal therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. It may sound like quite the laundry list, but I want to tailor your treatment to what you want and need. I am also a firm believer in the power of stories, and how telling those stories can lead you to taking on new perspectives and making new connections that we may not have seen before.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cats, DJ Katled and Penelope, singing (I am a regular one-woman musical in the car!), playing video games like Animal Crossing and Sims, spending time with my friends and loved ones, and baking!
Therapy can feel weird and awkward, especially if you’ve never done it before, but if any of this resonates with you, feel free to reach out to begin your journey to exploring and living as your most unapologetic, secure, and authentic self.
