Accepting New Clients!

I have been working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 25 years. I also have an undergraduate degree in Child Development and Family Studies.  It has been an ongoing privilege to walk alongside others in my work using evidence based treatments that work!

My story has been filled with personal and professional experiences that can help others. With my experience I know that each person has a different journey and we will work together in this process where you are, at your pace and work towards where you would like to be.  I am very honest and try to approach each individual with joy and like to use humor. In life we can laugh at ourselves in joyful times and in hard times.  We are much stronger than we realize. Moving through tough times can help us learn and grow.   I am willing to sit with you through the pain and tough times without judgment. I have compassion and a desire to continue working with all women throughout the lifespan span from all different backgrounds.

I  have extensive experience and significant success working with people who suffer with intrusive unwanted thoughts (OCD) and other related anxiety disorders including Generalized Anxiety, Phobias, Panic Disorders and Depression.  I have been extensively trained in ERP which is the gold standard of treatment for OCD and other related Anxiety Disorders. It really works! I have had the pleasure of working with others who say it has changed their lives. I also have extensive experience in working with individuals who struggle with body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB’s) ex.  hair pulling (trichotillomania), skin picking (excoriation) and Tic Disorder with a treatment called Habit Reversal Training (HRT).  This treatment is very effective and evidenced based.   I have been trained in Behavioral Activations (BA) for the treatment of Depressions and Prolonged Exposures (PE) for PTSD. I also use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) incorporating mindfulness strategies and flexibility in thinking patterns throughout all treatment approaches.  I have learned through personal and professional experience that women are often caring for others and need to take the time to care for themselves first in order to help others.

Personally, I am a mother to two adult children and grandmother (Oma) to two amazing grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family including my  4 pound Maltese/Shih Tzu named Izzy. I enjoy being active physically including spin, weight bearing and yoga/pilates classes. I enjoy the mental health benefits as well as sense of community in keeping active with others.  I also like learning something new. I am a lifelong learner and enjoy learning something new by reading, watching and doing. I really enjoy working with my clients which also brings me joy!
